Put Your Valuables Aside
Certain items of greater value, whether that be sentimental or material value, should be placed aside in their own category. Some of these should not be packed at all and transported personally. For example; legal documents like passports, extremely fragile valuables and more.
CATEGORIZE ROOM BY ROOM
Now that you've gotten rid of everything you don't want to bring with you, it's time to organize the things that you do! We highly recommend categorizing room by room. All kitchen items should be together, each bedroom should be packed individually and so on and so forth. This not only makes the process easier for you when you pack, but also when you arrive at your new home. Our movers can drop off all of the boxes at their designated rooms and finding what you need won't be as much of a hassle.
DON'T FORGET THE LABELS
We've seen this mistake happen so many times! People will categorize all of their belongings, but neglect to label them. This can make the unpacking process much more difficult. We'd have to open each box in order to figure out where it belongs. You've already put in the effort into sorting all of your items - don't forget to label the boxes as well! This will save a lot of time and effort. Also, if some boxes are especially fragile, make sure to mark that down.
Sort Out That Clutter
The first step to packing is figuring out what is essential for your move and what is not. Do you really need that old sweater? That rusty desk has been rotting in the attic - is there a point in taking it with you? Organization is key. Figure out what you want to keep and what you can part ways with.
DON'T SKIP THE PACKING PAPER
Take your time to make sure everything is packed properly. We recommend using white packing paper to wrap all of your items. Neglecting this stage can result in damage. Packing can be a tedious process, but when it's done right, trust us - it's worth it.
